Base Manager Mozambique (French- Speaking)

Alistair Group is looking for smart, capable onshore team members to join our team in Northern Mozambique providing services to the Oil & Gas industry.

This role will have a rotation (28 days on / 28 days off). We need one person starting mid-2024 for a duration of 2 years.

Location: Pemba, Mozambique

Contract basis

(French-speaking)

Responsibilities:
  • Overall Alistair Group representative on-site and client focal point
  • Management and supervision of the whole crew as detailed in the Supply Base Organisation Chart
  • Management and allocation of Plant and Equipment on-site, ensuring full safety compliance
  • Ensure full and efficient utilization of the workforce, Plant & Equipment by planning activities as per the 'daily plan' to maximize the resources available.
  • Ensure all staff is in full compliance with all HSE and Operating Procedures.
  • Participate and promote CPY Intervention System, carry out site walks and inspections.
  • Conduct HSE Conversations /TBT's, review Risk Assessments in conjunction with HSE
  • Supervisor and ensure compliance of permit to work as necessary, to ensure safe and secure work is performed by all Operations, contractors, and Third-Party personnel at the Base.
  • Supervise and support the assigned staff to ensure efficient organization of transport and appropriate documentation to transfer and track materials and equipment to its final destination.
  • Base manager will be the single interface with the client.
  • Base manager will be the overall contact holder with Waste Management contractor, Security contractor, etc
  • Direct interaction with other contractors using the base. i.e. subsea contractor
  • Base manager will be in charge of developing all work processes and be involved in risk assessment for the project.

  • Strong people management skills - ensure deliverables required by others to complete tasks are provided.
  • Computer Literacy to effectively operate and manipulate online management systems.

Education, Skills, Qualifications:
  • Must hold a Bachelor Degree (an MBA would be a plus)
  • Project and Team Management experience
  • Advanced knowledge on Microsoft office
  • Must be proficient in French and English (written and oral)
  • Experience in O&G industry including heavy lifting and material handling is a must
