The Brussels Dispute Resolution practice of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP is expanding and is looking for a French speaking associate. Our firm boasts a leading international Dispute Resolution practice with teams spread across Europe, Asia and the US advising global clients on a range of domestic, EU and international cases.
Our Dispute Resolution practice brings together lawyers working collaboratively and providing advice to Belgian and international corporate and private equity clients as well as financial institutions on cross-border and domestic litigation and arbitration, white collar crime matters and regulatory investigations. We are recognised as a market-leader in corporate and commercial disputes, financial disputes, competition litigation, global investigations and risk management. Our own hard-won reputation for cross-border work means we regularly support organisations through complex multi-jurisdictional proceedings and investigations. Key responsibilities- Representing clients throughout the trial and pre-trial phase before courts and arbitral tribunals and throughout investigations;
- Managing client relationships;
- Actively participating in business development activities and client events.
Key requirements- You are Belgian law trained and have excellent academic credentials. A post-graduate degree is an asset;
- You are a French speaker with an excellent command of English; a good command of Dutch is an asset.
- You have at least one year of experience in dispute resolution;
- You are an ambitious and highly motivated lawyer with first rate technical and commercial abilities driven to do high profile work;
- You are creative, curious and rigorous, have excellent communication skills and are able to take on a high degree of responsibility. You are also proactive and committed to providing an excellent service to clients.
