Junior Legal Counsel, Real Estate - French Speaker

Overview

Currently, the Legal Team of Foot Locker is a team of 9 legal counsels and 2 paralegals. The Legal Team covers a wide range of legal-, strategic- and business issues in over 25 countries, of which 21 countries in Europe. Working in this team, you must be comfortable with understanding how various Legal systems work, be able to drill down to the core of the matter with preciseness, have a healthy dose of common sense, and be able to make quick decisions based thereon. A 9-to-5 mentality is not the right fit.

In order to be ready for the future, within the Legal Team, we have created a dedicated Legal Real Estate Team. Therefore, we have the position of a full-time junior legal counsel Real Estate. You will be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and drafting all aspects of retail, office and warehouse lease agreements.

You will work closely with our outside law firms and internal business partners from the Real Estate team, with various backgrounds and nationalities. Therefore, it is important that you are eager to learn, be humble and understand the business drivers. We expect a hands-on and getting things done mentality. The recruit will also receive trainings on other areas of law.

Responsibilities

• Be a team player, attending daily legal department calls and team activities.• Presence in the office at least 3 times per week.

• Be proactive, respectful and willing to learn.

• Day to day assistance in handling and resolving any legal real estate related disputes. • Closed cooperation with outside counsels during the negotiation of the agreements. • Closed cooperation with the Real Estate, Construction, Lease administration departments for solution of day to day and/or contractual issues. • Assistance in negotiating, reviewing, and drafting retail, office and warehouse lease agreements. • Take care of the execution of the agreements (signature, exchange of documents, using Docu-sign). • Using the available systems to track and trace the workflow of the agreement in the internal system.

Qualifications

• Must hold a bachelor or master law degree.• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to all requests and assignments, without neglecting quality. • Ability to manage time in order to reach the department or company's deadline.• Fluent in English and French is requested, both written and oral. Additional knowledge of Spanish is welcome. • A balanced, no-nonsense personality, with a strong will to succeed and with interpersonal skills.• Good judgement, high level of integrity.• Willing to roll up the sleeves if needed and take charge of operational matters even if these are not legal.
