Manager, Statutory Reporting (Fluent in English & French)

Overview

The Manager Statutory Reporting is a valuable member of Finance Statutory Reporting. The department is responsible for performing all statutory financial reporting tasks applicable to legal entities that are part of the Foot Locker Group in Europe. In general, the role is accountable for several local entities' financial statement reporting, focusing on the timely and accurate completion of related tasks, including the local statutory audit process.

The Manager Statutory Reporting is expected to act as the main go-to person for accounting local requirements related to several legal entities assigned to them. This includes researching and advising the company on statutory accounting and reporting matters in connection with ad-hoc project initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Timely preparation of local GAAP financial statements according to local requirements
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, investigate and adjust differences between US GAAP and French GAAP items.
  • Compliance to French GAAP (FEC files, tax packages and other taxes)
  • Coordinate with third party consultants on the French compliance.
  • Manage and drive resolution of open items arising from the local statutory audits
  • Liaise between accounting teams, legal, tax, external advisors and auditors
  • Advise management on process improvements and design for new local reporting requirements.
  • Support and respond to different business requests as needed
  • Execute tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures, also as required for SOX compliance

Qualifications
  • Graduate degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics, in combination with minimum 3+ years' hands- on experience
  • CPA/CMA/ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification is a plus
  • Preferably experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm or a US owned European Company
  • Fluent in French, English; other additional European languages would be valuable
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of accounting closing processes and controls
  • A team player with a service-oriented attitude and proactive thinking
  • Strong attention to details and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines.
