The Market Compliance Manager is responsible for designingand executing registration strategies to access European electricity marketswith Tesla's algorithmic trading solution, Autobidder. The Autobidder teamdevelops systematic software solutions for monetizing energy storage systems bycontinuously forecasting electricity market prices, analyzing key markettrends, and actively re-optimizing behavior. We have repeatedly demonstratedsuccess in all active markets in residential, commercial, and utility-scalesettings.
We are seeking candidates with experience in developing andexecuting market registration strategies and bringing assets into commercialoperation. You will work alongside engineering, finance, policy and commercialteams to obtain and maintain relevant market access. Successful candidates willunderstand the key trade-offs between alternative route-to-market strategiesand be able to provide informed recommendations on the implications foraccessing different revenue streams.

Responsibilities - Drive our market registration to become a BRP (balance responsible party) and BSP (balancing services provide) to support the expansion of Autobidder into France and other European markets.
- Set requirements and work with commercial functions to design and buildbusiness processes, systems and operations to ensure compliance.
- Define and manage compliance and risk management frameworks,manage all compliance reporting requirements and responses to requests forinformation from regulatory authorities and system operators.
- Ensure Tesla's energy market participation function isconsidered in good standing with regulatory authorities and system operators,and escalate risks appropriately. Support dispute resolutions concerning finesor penalties.
- Work with the Policy team to track policy & regulatorydevelopments, proactively engage and educate key external stakeholders onTesla's positions on market design and blockers to unlocking the fullflexibility of BESS assets.
- Coordinate with regional and global Tesla teams, such asPolicy, Engineering, Product , Commercial, and Legal, to setup new businessfunctions in a way that reflects Tesla's bias for action.
Requirements - Degree in Law, Political Science, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical regulatory documentsand communicating complex topics in French and English.
- Strong understanding of electricity markets and energytrading, particularly in the French market.
- Expertise working with regulatory and licensing authoritiesto gain market participant authorizations in France (or Europe).
- Experience in developing compliance and risk managementframeworks, identifying and mitigating risks, and driving business impact.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environmentwith diverse, global teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills, quick learning ability, and abias for action.
