Operational Global Tax Manager - French speaking

Our client is seeking a French-speaking Operational Global Tax Manager with a natural inclination towards teamwork and collaboration. The role involves advising and supporting on all matters concerning both direct and indirect taxes across various African jurisdictions. Additionally, the position will report to the Compliance team, providing part-time input on different aspects of the team's work. The main responsibilities will be:
  • Manage legal compliance in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize operational processes to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Stay updated on tax-related changes in each jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate compliance requirements.
  • Research taxation legislation in new countries to support business growth.
  • Oversee quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and promptly address operational bottlenecks.
  • Advise on future tax regulation changes and their impacts.
  • Develop recommendations for maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Support business transactions and go-to-market strategies while mitigating tax risks.
  • Handle ad hoc projects to ensure compliance in all tax-related areas.

Key skills and experience for this role:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in International Law, Tax, Finance, or relevant fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in various Ops roles (Finance, Business Intelligence) or in the iGaming industry, with a focus on startups or rapidly evolving environments.
  • High-level knowledge of financial transaction taxes.
  • Ability to identify control weaknesses and implement solutions to resolve them.
  • Experience in effectively prioritizing compliance tasks using the 80-20 rule.
  • Proactive and self-starting attitude towards addressing compliance gaps.
  • Proficient in process design and optimization. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong numerical and document presentation skills.
