Adult Learning Lewisham is looking for a talented Part Time French Tutor to help enrich the lives of our learners.

Brockley Rise, and Granville Park centres.

What we're looking for

French tutor who has a teaching qualification/working towards one and has a degree or equivalent academic qualification. The role involves tutoring the Modern Foreign Language (MFL) to adults covering all levels from beginner to advance and must be familiar with the Educational Inspection Framework (EIF), which governs Teaching Learning & Assessment (TLA). You should have flexibility to deliver on any of our three sites situated across the London Borough of Lewisham. Furthermore, there are administrative tasks which are expected, and therefore you must have I.T. skills and the ability to use the college various systems to manage tutoring to include marking registers, progression of learners and supporting them in their eILP which records their progress. Training in terms of CPD is essential and you must be prepared to complete all the mandatory training as and when they are required. Finally, you are required to attend tutor meetings, which at a minimal is once a term for procedural changes, issues and general information which require discussion.

We are looking for a reliable conscientious and dedicated tutor, who preferably has experience of working in an adult environment and has qualification to at least level 4, as well as having or is willing to work towards achieving a recognised teaching qualification (e.g.Cert Ed/PGCE/award in education. The successful applicant must be prepared to work at any of our centres if required, and carry out all administrative tasks associated with the post including attendance at tutor meetings and CPD.

Salary details

£32.78 per hour

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role.
