Private Client Lending Manager - Italian & French Speaking

Overview of Role
As the primary employee of the Italian Branch of RMM, the person in this role will be responsible for the provision of credit facilities, specifically Lombard loans, to existing and new clients of Rothschild & Co Milan's Wealth Management business. The role will also be responsible for oversight of the loan book, liaising with both the Italian and French entities of Rothschild & Co.
The role requires working closely with:
the Branch Manager of the Italian Branch of RMM the Wealth Management client advisers in Milan to provide and monitor credit facilities for existing and new clients and to deliver a high quality service; the RMM Credit Team in Marseille and other Rothschild & Co offices to monitor and report on the credit facilities; and the Group Head of Banking at Rothschild & Co.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Facilities (Lombard loans)
- Dealing with lending enquiries/questions from client advisers and clients;
- Discussing/explaining lending terms with/to clients and client advisers;
- Preparing loan facility term sheets for internal discussion and approval;
- Preparing credit papers and presenting at Credit Committees;
- Assisting with preparing loan facility documentation including facility agreements and security documentation;
- Liaising with the RMM Credit team in Marseille regarding management information and reporting on the credit facilities; and
- Monitoring and carrying out reviews of the credit facilities (e.g. covenants/undertakings).
Operational
- Branch Regulatory & Tax Reporting in cooperation with any external service providers/outsourcers;
- Perform tasks related to Account Opening and Client and other reporting for the Branch;
- Monitor the performance of the Branch operational and IT service providers and outsourcers; and
- Liaising with RMM offices in Paris and Marseille, Rothschild & Co Wealth Management in Milan and other Rothschild & Co offices to ensure that the Branch is fully compliant under Italian and French regulations.
Technical Skills, Competencies and other requirements specific to the role
- Experience of working in private client lending and a good understanding of the market;
- Experience with regulatory requirements (especially Bank of Italy) applicable to the branch business;
- Strong analytical skills, able to assess credit situations to identify the key risks and measures to mitigate risks;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Well-developed interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively with clients, client advisers, intermediaries, Credit Committee and colleagues across Europe;
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately, to tight deadlines and with limited supervision;
- Strong organisational and time management skills; and
- Computer literate (MS Office).
Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant lending experience;
- Fluent in Italian and French; and
- Proficient in English.
