About the jobOur Team:Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi's Business Transformation organization, is setting up a captive Business Services center in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services.
With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services center will be covering the following areas of the process:
- Assets Management
- Tax Accounting
- Intercompany Accounting
- Treasury Accounting
- GL Accounts Closing and Reporting
The Senior Closing & Reporting Accountant reports to A2R Closing & Reporting Lead and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.
Main responsibilities:- Deliver GL monthly closing & reporting services to SBS:
- Review interfaces that generate automatic postings to ensure that they have been correctly booked, AR & AP sub-ledgers are closed and close Balance Sheet and P&L accounts
- Request & collect all recurring and non-recurring items, reconcile accounts and post Manual Journal Entries (MJE)
- Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels
- Perform monthly closing activities as per Group timetable
- Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels
- Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
- Deliver operational KPIs and comply with Sanofi policies and guidelines
- Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope, as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user
- Coach junior accountants
- Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to GL monthly closure and reporting activities
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
About youExperience:
- Good and proven experience in GL accounting preferably in an international multicultural environment
- Hands on expertise in GL accounting, closing & reporting processes and activities
- Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs
Technical skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel
- Hands-on experience of SAP (FI-CO or SAP4HANA or any other modules)
- Desired but not mandatory: experience in other accounting-related IT tools (e.g. Blackline)
Ability to:
- Organize, prioritize, and structure the tasks for oneself and direct reports
- Attentive to detail, precise, action oriented and change agent
- Role model / coach to junior analysts
- Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner
- Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end-to-end mindset
- Good communication skills, attentive to customer needs and feedback
Education: Graduate degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor or equivalent)
Languages: English fluent (written and oral), French advanced (min. level B)
