Senior Full Stack PHP Engineer (French Speaking)

The Position.

At IMD, we have several online ventures spanning multiple industries, countries, and languages. As an Engineer here, your role will span across the different projects, broken down into a few responsibilities:
  • Take ownership - with the scale of the businesses in relation to our team size, every engineer has the opportunity to see a project from end-to-end, and have a direct and meaningful impact on the business
  • Innovate - we have a very flat structure here and look to all employees to bring ideas for growth and advancement across the businesses
  • Lead by example - as a senior engineer, you'd work closely with the CTO to mentor and support the technical team, in order to raise the average skill level
  • Collaborate effectively - work with our founders and wider technical team to bring our customers the products and services they deserve

Requirements

We only ask for a few key skills/traits:
  • Backend - Solid PHP experience, Laravel is a strong preference
  • Frontend - JavaScript programming experience and a good eye for CSS
  • Experience with high volume - you're comfortable working with applications demanding high availability and handling large numbers of users
  • Organisation - we have a variety of projects, and tasks to be completed within those projects, so an ability to organise and prioritise effectively is key
  • Autonomous thinking - we're a small company made up of entrepreneurial minds - if you have an idea to improve one of the businesses, try it!
  • French - the majority of our engineering team is French

Nice-to-have.
  • JavaScript libraries/frameworks - you have experience with tooling and frameworks like Next.js / React.js / Vue.js
  • Payments - knowledge of payment processing software would be appreciated

  • £60-80K per annum
  • Performance-related, quarterly paid bonus - 10% per year
