Literature teacher (French Secondary Stream American Section ) Maternity Cover

Job Description

The French International School in Hong Kong is looking for a Literature teacher to work in the French Secondary Stream American Section (Section Internationale Américaine or SIA) from mid-January2027 till mid May for a maternity cover.
The American Section (SIA) of the French Baccalaureate combines the breadth and rigor of the French Baccalaureate with extra subjects taught and examined in English, resulting in a bilingual, bicultural diploma. Students throughoutthe BFI (Baccalauréat Français International) program have the opportunity to take both English Language and Literature (LL) and History and Geography (H/G) courses taught from an American perspective by certified anglophone teachers.
FIS team is comprised of native English-speaking teachers from different nationalities, working together to help the students achieve academic excellence in a nurturing environment.
Job Position:
• Full-time position teaching 20 periods of 55 minutes per week;
• Teaching responsibilities include the English Language and Literature (LL) component of the American Section (Section Internationale Américaine), as well as the Literature (ACL) component of the International French Baccalaureate.
Requirements
• Well-qualified with an internationally-accepted degree and teaching qualification from an anglophone country;
• Native speaker of English;
• Dynamic, forward-thinking professional with the experience and skills to contribute to a dynamic faculty;
• Passionate about learning and teaching and set high expectations for every student;
• Able to work collaboratively with a team of teachers;
• Able to be mobile through possible commuting between campuses;
• Internationally-minded and culturally sensitive;
• Committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement;
• Able and willing to teach both Middle and High School level (6th to 12th Grades or 6ème to Terminale);
