Senior Staff Business Development Engineer xEV Solutions (f/m/d)

We are a leading semiconductor supplier in industrial and automotive markets, offering a broad range of products for xEV: MCU, sensors, drivers, power devices. Within our User eXperience (UX) organisation, we are looking for a talented business development engineer to translate market and customer needs into a winning EMEA solution strategy.

Job Description

• Own Renesas solution marketing strategy for xEV in EMEA: OEM and Tier-1 platform mapping, market drivers (localisation, regulations, architectures...), business potential & socket-level content analysis by application, competitive positioning and pricing dynamics.
• Define & maintain multi-year solution roadmap by application: OBC, HV DC-DC, traction inverter, battery management and battery junction box, auxiliary/thermal inverters (e-compressor, pumps, fans), 48 V mild hybrid, HV power distribution and pyro/solid-state disconnect, e-axle and integrated power units, in collaboration with HW and SW product groups; act as the voice of EMEA market inside Renesas.
• Proactively promote solutions to OEM & Tier 1, in collaboration with Renesas' sales & FAE organisation; defend Renesas value and differentiation. Contribute to increase Renesas influence at OEM and win nominations at Tier 1.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering or in similar field
• 7 years or more experience in business development, technical marketing, technical sales, field application engineering or product management in the semiconductor, power electronics or automotive tier 1 industry; or system architect in an OEM.
• Solid working knowledge of xEV power electronics and control: OBC/DC-DC topologies (PFC, LLC, single-stage, bidirectional/V2G), IPM-PMSM/IM/EESM traction motor control, FOC & inverter topologies (T-Type, ANPC), HV isolation, current and rotor position sensing, power switches SiMOSFET/IGBT/SIC/GaN), battery chemistry (LFP/NMC/Na-ion) & cell monitoring, SOC/SOH/balancing, HV safety concepts. Practical familiarity with the automotive framework: ISO 26262 (up to ASIL D), ISO 21434 cybersecurity, AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive, AEC-Q100/Q101, IATF 16949, ASPICE, APQP/PPAP, EMC and HV creepage/clearance requirements.
• Entrepreneurial self-starter: builds the plan and then executes it hands-on. Strong business acumen: financial literacy, market & competitive insight, strategic & systems thinking, customer & value orientation, decision-making & prioritisation under uncertainty.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; credible with both engineers and executives. Influence without authority; cross-cultural collaboration (EMEA, Japan, US, China, India).
• MS Office, CRM, BI, AI prompt. C or Python coding is a plus.
• Fluent English; plus fluent German strongly preferred; fluent French also possible.
• Germany (Munich, Nabern or Dusseldorf) preferred, France (Paris) also possible.
• Willingness to travel across EMEA (up to ~40%)
