Avnet, Inc. a Fortune 500 company and one of the global leaders in the field of electronic components distribution, is seeking a highly motivated French Speaking Accountant to join our South Europe Accounting Team based in Milan. The successful candidate will drive innovation and deliver excellence in a fast-paced, international environment. The hired person will be involved in Finance and Accounting activities for the French entities of the Avnet Group. Our new team member will be someone with proven experience in finance, asset, and payment processes. SAP experience is considered an advantage.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Monitoring the day-to-day financial operations within the companies
• Overview the automated processes for sales, purchases, AR, AP
• Non-Trade Accounts payables, prime entries
• Cash management and reporting, support payment preparation.
• Maintain and reviewing financial records, including Fixed Assets Ledger, payroll postings, month end closing accruals
• Intercompany and bank reconciliation.
• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying and recording transactions
• General accounting, VAT return, in liaison with local tax and legal consultants ensuring correct calculation of monthly VAT and correct calculation of the taxable income; VAT reports, Journal Book, and other indirect tax returns.
• Interact directly with the auditors to discuss and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
• Maintain strong knowledge of accounting and finance practices
• Continuous improvement of processes and controls.
• Support on ad hoc projects
• Enhancing the tools and processes.

The Ideal Person:

• Proven experience in a Finance and Accounting roles
• Fluent in English, Italian, and French.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in general and tax accounting.
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, and standards.
• High attention to detail and accuracy, reliability, and curiosity
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal as well as written communication skills
• Advanced knowledge of excel and SAP.
• Familiarity with French Gaap and French laws and regulations will be considered an advantage.
