Role overview
The AI and Cloud Technologies Trainer will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive training program to public sector, government officials and policymakers across the West African region. The training aims to enhance participants' understanding of and confidence in AI and Cloud technologies, focusing on their impact, opportunities, and risks. The trainer MUST be fluent in both French and English for this role.
Main duties
Training Delivery:
Deliver high-quality training sessions on AI and cloud technologies
Use the publicly available frameworks to structure training content, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of data, infrastructure, policy, and education.
Adapt training materials to different learning environments, whether in-person, remote, or hybrid sessions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage with a variety of stakeholders to understand their specific learning needs and challenges.
Provide tailored advice and guidance to participants, helping them apply the concepts learned to their specific contexts.
Assessment and Feedback:
Assess the effectiveness of your training sessions through ensuring participant feedback completion (via our satisfaction surveys), assessments, and engagement metrics.
Provide constructive feedback to participants to aid their understanding and application of AI and cloud technologies.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest developments in AI, cloud technologies, and their applications for social good, particularly within West Africa.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs by incorporating new insights, technologies, and best practices
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, International development or equivalent in a related field.
Professional certification in Google Cloud Platform (e.g., Google Cloud Certified - Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect).
Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as an AI Trainer or similar role.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilitating classroom-based training sessions, specifically in technical subjects such as AI, cloud technologies, or related fields, with a proven ability to engage participants, manage group dynamics, and adapt teaching methods to different adult learning styles
Strong knowledge of AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and computer vision.
Experience with AI frameworks and tools.
Ability to travel for training sessions and conferences if required.
Advanced skills in using digital platforms and interactive tools for remote training, such as Zoom, Google Meet, and interactive whiteboard tools.
Desired qualifications and experience
Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in AI, Data Science, or a related field.
Certification or formal training in AI ethics, data privacy, or relevant policy frameworks.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and French
