Job DescriptionBASIC FUNCTION:The Assistant to the Director for the French program is responsible for the French section in both the Lebanese and French Official programs of the Lebanese Ministry of Education and the French Ministry of Education and the AEFE (Agence pour l'enseignement français à l'étranger). The Assistant to the Director oversees the implementation of the programs in the French section at the middle school in accordance with the official requirements of the Official Programs as published in the MEHE (Ministry of Education and Higher Education) and B.O. (Bulletin Officiel).
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:Program related- Participate in the accreditation follow-up (Suivi d'homologation) for the French Ministry of Education. E
- Coordinate with the Heads of subjects to ensure consistency and conformity with the B.O. (Bulletin Officiel) requirements. E
- Monitor the French curriculum, to ensure its consistency and conformity with the B.O (Bulletin Officiel) requirements in collaboration with the school director and the head of the whole school French program. E
- Keep complete records of B.O (Bulletin Officiel) program publications. E
- Ensure availability, conformity and consistency of reference tools (textbooks, resources, and facilities) in line with the needs of the official French program. E
- Liaise with the facilitators and/or librarians regarding the provision of resource books and other relevant materials E.
- Follow up on the planning and the implementation of the programs and curricula delivered in the French section. E
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of the French section programs by following up on weekly planners, assessments, rubrics, newsletters, announcements. E
- Ensure that all French communication is clear, accurate, and correct (Daily, weekly, monthly messages, letters
report cards). E - Provide students and parents with comprehensive information on the academic French programs, its aims, and requirements when necessary. E
- Registration for the DNB (Diplôme National du Brevet) and follow-up on tests. E
- Registration for the French DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) exams and follow-up on results. E
Student related- Monitor the academic performance. E
- Meet with parents when necessary or as requested and keep them informed of the performance of their children. E
- Work closely with the learning support teachers and the counselor regarding the students in the French Program. E
- Overseas and document data on the Student Information System (SIS) and other related platforms and report cards. E
Faculty and Staff related- Supervise the instructional programs, evaluating lesson plans, tests, and observing classes on a regular basis to encourage the use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials. E
- Identify appropriate instructional strategies and materials in accordance with official requirements of the French program that reflect best practices in line with frameworks and philosophy. E
- When requested by the Director, organize faculty meetings for discussion of program specific questions/matters. E
- Participate, follow up, and give recommendations during all French stream grade-level meetings. E
- Ensure that all faculty have access to updated resource materials, program content, and requirements as well as relevant assessment procedures. E
- Coordinate the participation of faculty in relevant workshops related to program requirements and tools. E
- Train the faculty on the requirements of the French program. E
- Coach teachers and provide follow-up with the French program procedures, unit and weekly plans, lesson plans, instructional materials, and other tools. E
School Life Related- Submit procedures enhancements for student's admission, promotion, and retention. Ensure proper implementation throughout the school. E
- Facilitate the entrance exams, and coordinate orientations for new students/parents. E
- Organize and coordinate co-curricular and extra-curricular activities & events to enrich exposure to the French culture. E
- Perform other academic tasks as assigned by the school Director. E
RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Any combination equivalent to: Bachelor's degree, Teaching Diploma, from an accredited university.
Five years of teaching experience in a French school or Homologué with an exemplary teaching record.
LICENSE AND OTHER REQUIRMENTS:- Experience facilitating, overseeing and coordinating curriculum and instruction.

WORKING CONDITIONS:Environment:School environment: Indoor and outdoor environment. International travel to other school sites and countries.
