1. The French Business Development team

Our purpose is to identify the companies in France that can scale by cutting costs and boosting productivity with the best tech builders, and match them with freelance talent through our platform.

As a Business Developer you own your market: you build, manage and grow a portfolio of French clients, building something from scratch in a market with huge potential. You'll be based in Madrid, with occasional travel to France for marketing events and client meetings.

2. What You'll Achieve:

• Own and grow your portfolio - you build, manage and grow a portfolio of French clients, increasing conversion, retention and repeat usage.
• Win deals through insight - you understand each company's pains and goals and communicate our value proposition so well that they adopt and scale freelance talent.
• Build trust at every level - you win over decision-makers and technical teams alike.
• Turn accounts into new business - you run account-based strategies to uncover new opportunities within existing clients.
• Run your book like a business - you own and report your KPIs, pipeline, account plans and forecasts weekly and monthly.
• Deliver with the team - you work closely with Talent and Ops to make sure freelance teams land successfully in your accounts.

3. Is it what you are looking for?

You're a great fit if you...

• Have 2-7 years of experience in business development, client management, tech sales, consulting or similar roles in the startup or tech ecosystem.
• Are fluent in French (native) and fluent in Spanish; knowledge of English and other European languages is a plus.
• Understand French business culture and are comfortable engaging with both startups and large corporations.
• Have strong "hunting" and "farming" skills to manage and expand a client portfolio.
• Are results-oriented, ambitious and excited about building something from scratch.
• Are tech-savvy and confident speaking with both C-level and technical profiles.
• Are highly organized, analytical and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Take full ownership of your market and accounts, with a hands-on attitude. High agency is a must.
• Already work with AI and want to go deeper.
• Nice to have: a portfolio of high-level contacts in France.

4. A note on AI

AI is non-negotiable at Shakers. It's part of how we sell, research and win every day, not a buzzword. Every Shaker has access to Claude, plus the context and training to get real value from it, and we track how we use it with specific KPIs.

Here you'll use AI to prospect smarter, research accounts faster and cut the busywork, so you spend more time connecting with the right people. We're looking for people who already use AI and want to go deeper: curious, proactive, and willing to invest time getting better at it. Not a novelty, a real collaborator.

5. Why join us?

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between 47.250€ and 70.000€ OTE (on target earnings) gross annual salary.

The salary consists of:

• Between 27.000€ & 40.000€ fixed salary
• Up to 3.000€ quarterly bonus based on performance & potential (7.5%)
• Uncapped commissions.

You may be eligible to receive phantom shares once you are part of the team, as the company completes future fundraising rounds.
