Business Development Manager to join our team specializing in
Sales for our
Power Generation Department in
Accra, Ghana.The successful candidate must improve the CPG's market share within Central African Territories in additional to West and East Africa & other selected markets based on business requirement.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Drive strategic growth by identifying, developing, and capturing high-value opportunities across complex markets and large accounts.
- Build long-term customer partnerships by engaging multiple stakeholders, understanding their business needs, and positioning tailored Cummins solutions that deliver measurable value.
- Strengthen Cummins' competitive advantage by effectively communicating and negotiating the differentiated value proposition of both standard and customized offerings.
- Lead the full sales cycle with excellence, ensuring revenue and margin targets are met through consistent application of the Cummins Sales Process.
- Provide market and customer insight to influence New Product Development and ensure Cummins solutions remain aligned to evolving customer and industry needs.
- Elevate customer satisfaction by responding to concerns promptly, aligning service and delivery capabilities, and maintaining strong post-sale relationships to drive repeat business.
- Enhance operational discipline through accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM utilization, enabling data-driven decision-making across the sales function.
- Contribute to team and organizational success by mentoring others, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring strong communication and alignment across all sales activities.
ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:- Strong analytical and forecasting capability to interpret customer data, assess trends, and build accurate sales forecasts that guide strategic decision-making.
- Disciplined pipeline and account management skills to evaluate pipeline health, adjust strategies proactively, and execute high-impact activities that drive consistent sales performance.
- Ability to articulate and differentiate value by deeply understanding customer needs, positioning Cummins solutions effectively, and demonstrating clear competitive advantage.
- Commercial and strategic acumen to develop pricing strategies, maximize profitability using all sales levers, and create robust account strategies that balance customer priorities with business goals.
QualificationsEducation/ Experience- University or college degree Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Sales/Marketing, with an MBA being desirable, or an acceptable combination of experience and education is required.
- Significant level of relevant work experience required for this senior position, with extensive experience in Field Sales or Sales Management being desirable.
- Hands-on Powergen sales experience with proven record of previous successes & executed projects.
- Candidates with Power Generation Sales Management or similar roles are welcomed.
- Bilingual English & French is a must fluently.
- Ability to travel frequently to different locations.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
