Credit Controller (French Speaking - 15 month FTC)

SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled credit controller to be solely responsible and oversee credit and cash collection process for French speaking customers. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely payments are received, responsible for mitigating financial risk, minimalizing bad debt provision, maintaining strong customer relationships, working closely with our commercial team and other finance departments.

This role is Hybrid with requirement to be in the office located in Billericay 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), Thursday and Friday will be work from home days,

This role is a 15 month fixed term contract to cover a period of Maternity leave,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a portfolio of French-speaking customer accounts.
• Monitor and chase outstanding debts via phone, email, and written communication.
• Review daily banking and provide allocations to the Treasury department.
• Create aged debt report daily - keeping the file up to date with latest chaser information.
• Maintaining direct debit collections.
• Onboarding new retailers, performing credit checks and establishing appropriate credit limits.
• Work with commercial team to ensure credit limits facilitate peak sales/ promotions.
• Manage and own responsibility for credit limit's and assessing current exposure. To keep within maximum exposure on daily/weekly basis.
• Identify disputes and queries and follow up for resolution.
• Prepare refunds and write offs with full back up, for approval by Credit Manager.
• Weekly and Monthly - Report on debtors.
• Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
• Other duties and reporting as assigned.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

• Fluent English and French speaking and writing.
• Proven experience as a credit controller or in a similar role.
• Proficient in accounting software including Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Teams).
• Self-motivated.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Preferred but not essential knowledge of French financial regulations and payment practices.
