Job Title: Data Protection Engineer

Join our dynamic team at Thales as a Data Protection Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of implementing cutting-edge security measures and ensuring the robustness of our data protection strategies. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in protecting sensitive information, supporting compliance requirements, and driving innovation in the realm of cybersecurity.

Role and Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

• Develop and implement data protection strategies that ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data.
• Design and manage security systems and protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Carry out administrative acts on the platforms at the request of clients.
• Automate deployment and continuous integration processes.
• Install, configure and ensure the MCO/MCS of Ciphertrust Data Security Platform (CDSP) and Luna HSM solutions

Monitoring and Analysis:

• Regularly monitor data protection systems and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify potential security threats.
• Implement and oversee security audits to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.

Incident Response:

• Participate in the resolution of production incidents and suggest improvements.
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure available and efficient service.
• Respond to and mitigate data breaches and other security incidents.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and develop corrective action plans.

Development:

• Develop, review, and update data protection policies and procedures.
• Ensure technological monitoring and test new features and version upgrades in a Lab environment.
• Deploy different use cases for encryption or encryption key management of the CDSP platform (CTE-LDT ; CTE-K8S ; CTE-COS ; CTE for HANA ; Confidential Computing ; Tokenisation ; CCKM avec Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Salesforce ; CAKM, KMIP;)

Collaboration:

• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security measures into the overall IT infrastructure.
• Work with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to data protection regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
• Ensure support to Bid Team

• Write technical documents and procedures

About you :

Skills:

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in encryption technologies and data protection software.
  • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Experience with firewall and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Understanding of network security (VPN, TLS/SSL, etc.).
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, DLP, IAM).
  • English and French language - C1

• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various departments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work.

Technologies:

• Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
• Experience with CDI technologies (CTM, HSM)
• Experience with cloud data protection use case : CCKM, CAKM, KMIP
• Familiarity with containerization and virtualization technologies
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools like Okta, Auth0.
