Job Type: Permanent, full-time hours (for the Netherlands we offer an initial contract period of 12 months followed by a review to extend to an indefinite contract)

Location: Hybrid working opportunity from the following IB (International Baccalaureate®) Global Centres: Cardiff (UK), The Hague (Netherlands) or Washington DC (US)

About the Job

The IB has recently embarked upon a digital assessment transformation journey and is starting by transitioning the paper-based Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) examinations to a digital format. Over 4,000 schools will embark on this journey and will need the support from the IB as they transition to digital assessments. The purpose of this role is to discover the challenges schools may face and provide guidance and support accordingly in order for schools to successfully administer digital examinations to DPCP students. This role sits within the Business Development Office, sponsoring the Digital Assessment Initiative.

The Digital Assessment School Support Associate Manager (French Language) will manage the development, completion, and improvement of projects within the workstream. They will act as the representative for schools so that internal stakeholders and the external digital assessment vendor part of the Digital Assessment Initiative account for the diversity and complexity of IB world schools. In addition, the Digital Assessment School Support Associate Manager will create new support processes, integrate them into the organization, and document learnings for internal changes needed to better serve schools. This individual is responsible for coordinating cross-team and cross-department work, which includes working with the various departments within the Education, Schools, Business Development, and IT office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of training for schools, including webinars, video tutorials, user guides, FAQs, and support resources to instill confidence in the IB school community
  • Advise and guide schools in assessing current technological capabilities, evaluating what improvements and infrastructure are needed, and guiding them through the transition to ensure a smooth integration from paper-based to digital DPCP exams
  • Develop an informed understanding of the categories of school profiles to implement programme improvement as it relates to digital assessments and identify opportunities
  • Serve as tier two support and work with IB Answers to collect information from schools, organize such information and support IB Answers to handle queries and requests efficiently and effectively
  • Support the development of digital assessment operational exam plans and monitor school integration plans and difficulties at different stages of the transition to anticipate the rate of adoption
  • Build capacity of new and experienced school-based leaders in understanding and implementing the changes related to digital assessment to empower schools
  • Measure the success of support materials and training and evaluate the effectiveness of support initiatives to make data-driven decisions
  • Coordinate with various departments and offices, such as the Education, Schools, and Business Development, to ensure smooth integration with existing processes and systems
  • Gather feedback and facilitate activities to keep schools engaged and to improve upon our assessment platform and support materials
  • Engage with the IB community during IB events, global conferences and school site visits to promote the transition to DPCP digital exams, instil confidence, and encourage participation
  • Continually compile, monitor and analyse data, surveys, dashboards, developments, and trends during dual-running years
  • Responsible for project manage tasks in identification of risks and issues, and development of mitigation strategies and solutions


Qualifications

About You

Essential
  • Fluency in written and spoken French
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as education, technology, communications (prior experience or knowledge of IB preferred)
  • Ability to travel (international and domestic) for conferences and meetings (up to 6 times a year)
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to interpret technical information and knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and facilitate decision-making
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Proven ability to implement change, prioritize tasks and work efficiently within flexible hours (i.e. working with colleagues across the globe in multiple time zones)

Desirable
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • Understanding of current developments and trends in education and assessments
  • Experience creating presentations, demonstration videos, or similar deliverables
  • Ability to communicate well across all levels of an organization, with the ability to build and foster productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Capability to investigate problems and contribute to implementing remedies and preventative measures
  • Ability to engage with users / stakeholders to gather requirements and make decisive decisions
  • Energy and focus to deliver quality outcomes within defined deadlines
  • Experience of working on successful change/project initiatives

  • Annual Salary in the region of GBP 36,307 - 45,383 (negotiable dependent on experience).

  • Flexible benefits allowance equivalent to 1.5% of Annual Salary to spend on benefits or as addition to salary.
  • Flexible working (core hours are 10am-3.30pm), 40 hours per week.
  • Initial contract period of 12 months followed by a review to extend to an indefinite contract.
