Sounds great - what's the role in a nutshell?
The Bartender's task is to prepare all types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as all types of food and beverage service. Its objective is to provide an efficient and diligent service by following the procedures and instructions assigned to the tasks. Mandatory to create unique experiences for our guests during the service. This position is specially designed to French-speaking departures.
Your passion is:
- Reach the sales goals established by the Food and Beverage Directorate, as well as participate in different activities to reach them.
- Knowledge of various beverages, whether alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
- Knowledge of wines and pairings for recommendation to our guests.
- Bar techniques and skills.
- Control of losses and waste of beverage inputs. Maintain communication with kitchen.
- Exact knowledge of the food and drink menu, as well as deep knowledge of the fruits, products, meals and drinks that the Peruvian Amazon offers to create wow moments and unique experiences.
- Serve guests and guests on board during breakfast, lunch and dinner service or other service outside the ship when indicated (whether in a community, at La Casona, excursions, etc.).
- For guest experience activities, for example: cooking class, have the setup ready to demonstrate cocktail preparation. Once finished, collect the kitchenware and supplies for the lunch service.
- Stay in the Bar - Lounge according to the needs of the guests.
- Knowledge of service etiquette and protocol towards our guests.
- Responsible for the layout, cleaning and assembly of all shifts with respect to the bar. Likewise, care and cleaning of public areas and green areas around/near the bar (for example: jacuzzi area).
- Control your stock of products and tableware for the bar, as well as its supply for ideal guest service.
- Control of periodic breakages on the barware arranged according to the Lead Bartender.
- Control of your products by managing FIFO/FIFO (First in First Out) expiration dates. In addition to the labeling of all its products.
- Relieve the employee on duty at staff lunch time.
- One of its main functions is to assist the waiter during breakfast, lunch and dinner service or other assigned activities.
- As required by the Food and Beverage department, you can work in the plant/office/kitchen/warehouse for any requirement, whether to assist, organize and/or clean.
- Support supervisors and area colleagues during probable contingencies.
- Obey and follow all instructions of the Cruise Director and Captain.
- It is essential to be involved in the activities prepared for the arrival of the guests.
What are we looking for?
- Degree in Hospitality or Food Production.
- Knowledge of Food and Beverages and good food handling practices.
- 5+ years of experience in the similar position.
- Fluent in French communication skills.
