Job DescriptionOn behalf of our client,
an association in the cultural industry, we are looking for a General Manager to join their dynamic team based in Hong Kong.
The
General Manager is responsible for implementing and directing cultural events. He/she is responsible for the successful management of the association to meet the goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors.
Artistic Direction- Determines, implements, and coordinates an annually artistic program
- Ensures that the programs contribute to its mission and reflect the priorities of the Board.
Governance- Ensures that the Board of Directors is proactively informed about the condition and operations on important matters impacting the association;
- Oversees the planning and coordination of meetings of the Board of Directors and collaborates with the Chairman and Executive Committee to establish meeting agendas.
Operational Planning & Management- Oversees the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the Association and the cultural events program;
- Acts as the primary spokesperson and contact for the Association and the cultural events program;
- Maintains effective relationships with external organizations and institutions both in France and in Hong Kong.
Legal and Financial Planning and Management- Plans, recommends and operates within a budget as approved by the Board;
- Ensures the legal integrity of the entities and that all funds are adequately safeguarded;
- Oversees the fundraising and development activities of the Association.
Technical and Personal Competencies- Demonstrates strong understanding of leadership and management principles related to a non-profit cultural organization;
- Demonstrates strong understanding of the Hong Kong and French art scene;
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of financial and human resources management principles;
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the Association.
