Job DescriptionOverviewInfra. BIM Engineer is responsible for producing civil engineering designs, drawings, and 3D models for infrastructure and industrial projects. The role involves working closely with civil engineers to develop grading, drainage, underground services, and roadway designs while ensuring compliance with applicable design standards and project requirements.
Your role- Produce plans, 3D models, and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads.
- Generate existing ground surfaces and sub-surfaces using survey data.
- Perform site grading, drainage systems, earthwork models, and quantity take-offs using Civil 3D, InRoads, or OpenRoads.
- Develop underground services and utility plans.
- Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from civil engineers to ensure conformance with design concepts.
- Implement alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for sites and roadways.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings.
- Perform other related duties as applicable to project requirements.
About you- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred but not strictly required).
- Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering design and drafting experience.
- Proven experience in 2D and 3D design for site grading, earthworks, drainage systems, underground services, utilities, roadways, and infrastructure systems.
- Mining industrial plant and facility experience is preferred.
- Experience in hydrology is considered an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable civil engineering theories, practices, and accepted office procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret maps and land survey information.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and InRoads/OpenRoads.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
- Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of critical project information.
