We're seeking a dedicated and ambitious individual to join our vibrant MFL department as our Second in Charge (French) on a
full-time, permanent basis starting in September. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled French educator to play a pivotal role in fostering a love of the French language and culture in our students.
Here's what you'll do: - Leadership & Collaboration: Provide strong leadership and direction for the French program, collaborating effectively with the Head of MFL and the wider department team.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute significantly to curriculum development, ensuring it aligns with national standards and ignites student interest.
- Engaging Instruction: Deliver captivating French lessons for students across various age groups (potentially KS3, KS4 and/or KS5).
- Assessment & Progress: Guide and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
- Positive Learning Environment: Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that promotes a love of languages and cultural understanding.
- Professional Development: Support and mentor colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the MFL department.
Who You Are: - A qualified teacher with QTS and a specialism in French (leadership experience preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting, with a demonstrably strong track record.
- Possess a deep understanding of the French language and a passion for fostering cultural awareness in students.
- Proven ability to create engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
