The Purpose of the Role

The successful applicant for this fixed term full-time role will coordinate the language programmes in French, contribute to undergraduate teaching and assessment and to curriculum development. The successful candidate will also coordinate the contribution of teaching assistants to language programmes.

Context

The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies seeks the appointment of a Language Coordinator based in the Department of French to work with colleagues to review our provision of language teaching in the light of research-based language pedagogies and best practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career academic looking to be part of a dynamic team seeking to implement new and transformational language teaching methodologies

Requirements

The appointee will require the following knowledge, skills and attributes for successful performance in the role:

Qualifications

• Essential: strong academic record and at least a Master's degree in a relevant area of French Studies (for example, in Language teaching pedagogy, applied linguistics, Français langue étrangère)

• Desirable: completed or close to completion of a Ph.D. in a relevant area of French Studies
