The Shared Services Centre (SSC) is a centre of excellence focused on the delivery of high quality and cost-effective administrative services for FAO globally. The SSC ensures the management of quality assurance activities associated with its transactional processes and service delivery; continuously improves the satisfaction of its customers, internal or external, while pursuing a continuous improvement agenda that will drive up service excellence while driving down the costs of service delivery through process standardization, process automation and self-service capabilities.
The objective of the Call is to attract talented individuals with experience and background in teaching English, Spanish, French or Arabic as a foreign language and in assessing official language examinations to populate the language teachers Roster. Candidates who are registered in the Roster are available for consideration whenever relevant opportunities arise.
Reporting LinesThe language teacher reports to the National Administrative Officer - SSC.
Technical Focus The incumbent teaches language to the employees of FAO - SSC.
Tasks and responsibilities• Teach group and/or individual language courses.
• Participate in regular teachers' meetings to discuss issues and share information
• Update and present a course syllabus for each course taught during the contract (group and/or individual).
• Send syllabus and lesson log to students after group courses in a timely manner.
• Update and correct the end of session test for each student.
• Provide student's progress report (next level, pass/fail and comments) at the end of each group and/or individual class as well as an evaluation for the learner.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWINGMinimum Requirements• University degree in education, language, or related area
• Five years of relevant experience in teaching the French language in an international environment
