Production Manager - F/M/X

Job description

As Production Manager, you are responsible for all production activities for our industrial modules (mechanical and electrical) on the Courcelles site.
You ensure that production targets are achieved in terms of quality, safety, cost and lead time, while developing teams and driving continuous improvement across our industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production management

• Organise, schedule and supervise mechanical and electrical production activities across several workshops.
• Ensure on-time delivery of manufactured products and full respect of customer commitments.
• Guarantee achievement of quality, safety, cost and productivity objectives.
• Monitor performance indicators (KPI) and implement action plans to improve results.
• Adjust production plans according to priorities, constraints and available capacity.

2. Team leadership

• Manage a workforce of around 120 employees, structured through approximately ten Team Leaders.
• Support and develop front-line managers in their leadership and operational skills.
• Develop skills, autonomy and engagement within production teams.
• Foster transparent, regular and constructive communication on the shop floor.

3. Operational excellence & HSE

• Ensure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards and customer requirements.
• Oversee non-conformity management and follow up on corrective and preventive action plans.
• Guarantee compliance with HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Contribute to process reliability and risk reduction in daily operations.

4. Resource and flow optimisation

• Align human and material resources with production needs (teams, equipment, tools).
• Optimise workshop layout, material flows and information flows.
• Identify bottlenecks and propose solutions to improve industrial performance (productivity, lead time, scrap rate).
• Contribute to defining and prioritising investments to support site performance.

5. Continuous improvement & Lean

• Identify opportunities to improve production processes and work methods.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement projects (5S, waste reduction, standardisation, SMED, etc.).
• Standardise best practices to sustainably improve workshop performance.
• Engage teams in continuous improvement initiatives and support change management.

6. Cross-functional collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Planning and Project Management teams.
• Ensure smooth communication and coordination between departments to secure customer commitments.
• Represent the Production department with internal stakeholders and in site governance meetings.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing industrial production in a mechanical and/or electrical environment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline.
• Proven experience in an industrial production or manufacturing environment (workshop/plant), not limited to site or project management.
• Demonstrated experience managing large teams (minimum 80 employees).
• Experience working in a multicultural industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of industrial quality standards and performance management.

Technical skills

• Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
• Strong command of production planning and industrial flow optimisation.
• Solid culture of performance indicators (KPI) and their use to steer operations.
• Very good command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (analysis, reporting, performance tracking).
• Comfortable using AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) applied to industrial environments and process optimisation.

• Natural leadership and ability to engage and unite large teams.
• Hands-on, shop-floor-oriented manager, solution-driven and close to operations.
• Excellent organisational skills and sound decision-making ability.
• Strong sense of priorities and results orientation.
• Ability to drive change and build a continuous improvement culture.
• Excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment.

Languages

• Fluent French.
• Professional English (spoken and written).
