Sourcing and Buying Office Country Director (French Speaking)

Job Description
Our client is a fast-growing company in the fashion industry. To cope with their business, they are looking for a Country Director for their new office in Hong Kong.

The country director will pay a leading role in contributing to and delivering the group brand strategy, define and manage country strategic direction to organize brand sourcing in alignment with the group's values and culture.

The person will promote the sourcing buying office activities with all the brands under the group, positioning the buying sourcing office team as an extension of the different head office teams.

Define and validate supplier panel in coherence with the brands needs and expectations.

  • Work with Group Sourcing Director and the Brands to define and implement brand sourcing strategies, evaluate, and identify business opportunities for meeting business objective
  • Lead the merchandising, technical and quality team to ensure a good follow up from product development to production delivery
  • Procedure set up, plan and communicate with brands and suppliers to ensure the consistency in brand's standards and guidelines
  • Design, plan and execute the country sourcing contribution to the KPI's and ensure adequate tracking and controls are in place to meet budget and targets
  • Drive business through strategic planning
  • Monitor the order follow-up processes and shipment reliability
  • Provide good representation of the Company Policy, Code of Conduct and General Delivery Instructions to both internal and external contacts
  • Provide representation where required for fiscal requirements, which may include, performing duties as a local resident director or local general manager or company representative etc.,
  • Team management, provide training & development of team members


Requirements
  • At least 10 years garment merchandising experience, of which minimum 5 years in the management position
  • Higher diploma or Degree in Business, Textiles or related field preferred
  • With multi-national corporations (MNCs) Buying Office experience preferred. Experience within the country of destination (China, Bangladesh, etc....)
  • Excellent communication skills and good command of spoken and written English/French
