Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead to join our Quality Assurance team, supporting projects within the banking and financial services sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing testing strategies, coordinating testing activities, managing test teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. You will work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and key stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are validated and delivered according to quality standards.

This position requires strong leadership skills, a solid background in software testing methodologies, and the ability to drive quality initiatives throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

• Define and contribute to the overall Test Strategy and Master Test Plan.
• Assess project requirements and identify the appropriate testing approach.
• Estimate testing efforts, define schedules, and allocate resources.
• Identify testing risks and establish mitigation plans.
• Ensure testing activities are aligned with project objectives and quality standards.
• Define testing priorities according to business needs and project timelines.

Test Design & Preparation

• Review business and functional requirements to ensure testability.
• Design, review, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Ensure testing deliverables are produced and maintained according to established standards.
• Support the continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and documentation.
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across testing teams.

Test Execution & Team Coordination

• Coordinate and oversee testing activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and support software testers, ensuring effective workload distribution and execution.
• Monitor testing progress and proactively address issues, dependencies, and blockers.
• Execute test cases when required, including functional, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Ensure accurate documentation of test results and evidence.
• Track test coverage and provide visibility into project quality status.

Defect Management

• Identify, document, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Ensure defects are properly logged, prioritized, tracked, and validated.
• Collaborate with development and business teams to resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform retesting and support regression testing activities.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and quality improvement initiatives.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

• Prepare and present testing status reports, metrics, and quality dashboards.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Facilitate defect review meetings and testing governance sessions.
• Provide quality assessments and recommendations to support Go/No-Go decisions.
• Ensure stakeholders have clear visibility of testing outcomes and project readiness.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Promote a quality-first mindset across projects and teams.
• Ensure compliance with established testing standards, methodologies, and governance processes.
• Contribute to process optimization and testing maturity initiatives.
• Support the adoption of testing best practices and continuous improvement activities.
• Participate in workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and lessons learned exercises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
• Proven experience leading or coordinating testing activities across multiple projects.
• Experience working within banking, financial services, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience supporting complex system implementations and integrations.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).

Technical Skills

• Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• ISTQB Certification (preferred).
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Micro Focus Octane
  • JIRA
  • Confluence
  • API Testing
  • SQL
• Ability to define Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Test Schedules.
• Experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.

Languages

• French (mandatory).
