The PositionWe are looking for a highly skilled
Collections Specialist with French to join our finance team. This position involves managing customer accounts with more complex and sensitive collection processes. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in collections, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to handle high-risk accounts in markets that require a more tailored and careful approach.
Responsibilities:
- The Collections Specialist will be responsible for overseeing customer accounts that involve extensive collection processes in more sensitive markets. This includes managing high-risk or large-value accounts, working with clients to resolve overdue payments, and negotiating payment plans or settlements in more complex cases for Canadian market.
- They will ensure that all interactions are managed with a focus on maintaining strong customer relationships, while protecting the financial interests of the company. The analyst will also handle escalated cases and collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to address any issues that may arise.
- In addition, the Collections Specialist Analyst will take the lead in analyzing customer financial information to assess creditworthiness and payment behavior, preparing detailed reports on aging accounts, and providing strategic insights to improve the collections process. They will be responsible for implementing best practices in collections for high-risk markets and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with company policies and regulations.
- They will also mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support on more complex cases, and ensuring that the collections team adheres to company policies and industry standards.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or other related to OtC.
- Up to 3 to 5 years' experience in OtC processes.
- Fluency in English and French Language in addition to Portuguese.
- Experience working on regional or global teams.
- Demonstrated experience working in large teams collaboratively.
- Demonstrated strong math, query, analytical and systems skills with demonstrated experience in data management, MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain financial controls.
- Effective training skills and team building capabilities for management of functional tasks within area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strong oral and written communication, presentation, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Good project management skills including ability to coordinate and implement complex cross-functional activities.
- Experience with continuous process improvement projects leading to significant time or bottom-line savings.
- Pays attention to details, produces accurate deliverables, and consistently meets deadlines.
- Proactive style in implementing new processes.
- Experience using SAP R/3 required.
