The French Payroll Controller manages monthly payroll processing and ensures that we comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and country specific requirements. It involves managing and controlling the data to our external service provider, working with a tight timetable ensuring that our employees and all related tax authorities and instances are processed in an accurate and timely manner.**Note: Relocation to Amsterdam is required**
Responsibilities - Ensure accurate and timely processing of various EMEA payroll data in accordance with the prescribed timelines via external service provider
- Work closely with the internal and external stakeholder in the process to ensure compliance with local legislation and SOX controls
- Ensure appropriate execution of SOX controls and SOX documentation are in order on receipt of files from the external service provider
- Ensure net payments to employees and statutory payments related to payroll are executed in a timely manner
- Address queries from employees, HR team, benefits team and various other stakeholders in a timely manner
- Document and maintain the payroll procedures manual for the respective countries
- Prepare, review and analyse GL accounts related to payroll and ensure transaction are recorded accurately. Communicate reconciliation issues to proper teams and ensure timely resolution of open items in collaboration with the Payroll accounting team
Requirements - Experience in processing French payroll and any other EMEA payroll experience is a huge plus
- Strong accounting knowledge
- Understand and comply with all SOX controls and departmental processes and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required including the ability to collaborate with people at all levels
