Role: The OC (Operational Controllership) teams provide support for our client's financial activities of its affiliates across 31 countries in Europe working closely with the local/regional business controllership teams. Service scope includes preparatory and closing activities in areas like Compensation & Benefit, Supply Chain, Fixed Asset, Cash &Banking, Intercompany, VAT and STAT. This is an excellent opportunity to have a complex overview of accounting of a global company. As an Advanced Accountant you can be a part of a large and friendly team.
Responsibilities
• Lead and perform US GAAP/ IFRS general accounting activities on behalf of local Businesses.
• Validate and apply the appropriate accounting principles on unusual/non-routine transactions.
• Perform activities required for month-end closing according to the respective business deadlines.
• Prepare all balance sheet account reconciliation and ensure that open items are accurately closed.
• Assist in monthly and quarterly balance sheet and P&L review and prepare variance analysis.
• Analyze process transactions and its potential financial impact. • Generate complex financial reports according to US GAAP standards (monthly, quarterly and annual)
• Understand Policies and ensure that all accounting processes are in line with regulations and principles, and confidentiality is respected in data handling when working with personal data and/or sensitive data.
• Provide audit support in accurate and timely manner
• Maintain good working relationship with the local operation and controllership team, internal & external audit teams and FP&A.
• Preparing the VAT declarations and the accounting journals when required
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
• Multi years of accounting experience in a multi-GAAP environment or / and country specific knowledge of taxation (VAT and CIT) & accounting rules applicable from country-to-country if applicable
• Experience of closing the books, ideally in an international environment or in the R2R function of an SSC
• Understands the composition of financial documents (Cash Flow, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet) and key financial metrics •
• Witten and verbal fluency in English and French languages
